Coming soon...

I know it's been a while. Things have been a bit hectic lately. I hope to hook up the camera/phone to upload all the new photos soon. So please forgive my "laziness" if you will. My plan is to have everything back up and running by the end of the week. Joey is getting SO big. I can't believe how time has flown by. I go back to work starting Monday. I'm excited but not. I'll enjoy getting out of the house and setting up a routine. I just wish I could bring Joey along for the ride! ;D

David Goes Back to Work

Joey is now almost 7 Weeks old!! I seriously can't believe the time has gone by this fast. Time is going by faster and faster.

David went back to work two weeks ago. It's great because he got a good amount of time bonding with his son (which many fathers don't get) but Joey and I miss him soooo much. If it were up to David, he'd be a stay at home papa!

David and Joey reunited after David's first day back to work.

It's been tough without him here. I've gotten so used to his company and I'm sure Joey feels the same way. The week David went to work was also the week that Joey got sick :( The doctors still don't know what's wrong with him exactly... their guesses are a virus or Pyloric Stenosis. I found out the other day that this stenosis (or the thickening of the muscle that connects the stomach to the intestines) runs in the family. Thankfully it seems that the body can work it's way through it. In other words... this muscle is growing a little faster than the rest of his stomach and intestines. So whether it's the virus or the stenosis, we suffer the consequences... ie. the upset belly coupled with all that comes along with that!

Our sick baby boy... On the way to the docs.

Some things to note:
Joey STILL LOVES bath time! He gets his baths every other day. He screams while getting out. I think if it were up to him, he'd stay in past the "prune-y" stage!

Joey has figured out BUBBLES!!! I don't know if he knows exactly what he's doing when he starts them. But they're definitely there!

These next pics show just how much lil Joey has grown in just a few weeks!

CUDDLE TIME!!! (every morning we make time for "Cuddle Time")

We call him Houdini because he can escape ANY swaddle! It's true... you'll hear him grunt and groan all night long until he frees himself! (not gunna lie! it's really entertaining)

Here are some more!

One of the ways we get Joey to sleep. Gotta love the swing!

Sleepyhead. I love his outfit though. Hehehe.

Time for David and Joey CUDDLE TIME!!!

Tummy Time! He loves Baby Einstein!
Baby Joey is getting so strong! He can now lift his head and neck and can sit up on his elbows!

Tummy Time on Daddy!

Our happy baby.

We got a Baby Bjorn. It's one of the best investments we've made and both parties LOVE it! ;D

Stay tuned. More to come!

Eventful Week!

We've had an eventful week thus far. We went to an engagement party and met some other babies along with the bride and groom to be... Molly and Rico.

One of the great things we've begun to notice is his enormous amount of expressions he's beginning to figure out. Here are some pictures. Now, all these pictures were taken in a course of about two minutes. ;D

Some expressions I wasn't able to capture were the pucker face, his HUGE smile, and when he sticks his tongue out.

This week was really weird weather-wise... the week started off with record breaking heat!!!

Our lil Joey HATES the heat! It makes him VERY fussy. Here's a show once he finally got some rest in the A/C'd car!!!

This week we also got a present from one of our Neighbors in Sherman Oaks!
Thank you Ninette!!!

Wednesday, September 29th held a pretty momentous day! We started off the morning feeling pretty well rested.

My dad is on the transplant list with UCLA for a set of new lungs. For the first time he was called in to receive the donor lungs. We went ahead and left Joey with Grandma and Grandpa (David's parents) while David and I hightailed it out to UCLA's medical center. We made awesome time. They quickly prepped my dad for the arrival of the lungs. They called him and another guy out for the lungs. They would give the lungs to whomever was a better fit. The facility was impressive! From his private room you could see the UCLA football team practicing for their weekend game with Washington State University and you could also see the helicopter landing pad on the roof delivering the lungs!

The lungs were not viable and could not be transplanted into either the other guy or my dad :( I said it was kind of a blessing in disguise because really... no one was ready for this. It turned into reality real fast. (The transplant has been in waiting for a good couple years now.) You never know what God has planned and I wasn't ready for my dad to be on that table. Like my cousin said, "Maybe this is God's way of preparing everyone" and I think those words are holding very true. Once on our way home, all we could think about was our lil boy. We finally got home and we were able to hold him in our arms again!

The very first words out of my dad's mouth when we came to the hospital was "where's my Joey?" Kind of broke my heart. So the next day (after some rest of course)

and after my doctor's appointment in Irvine

David and I decided to surprise my dad with a visit from Joey. After a stressful night that was a little disappointing seeing Joey definitely lifted his spirits!

By the end of the week the weather cooled down significantly. With a near 30 degree difference in temperature, we were able to enjoy the lightning, thunder, rain and RAINBOWS!!! DOUBLE RAINBOWS to boot!

David also received his Daddy Diaper Bag that he's been wanting! It's pretty cool. Its called a DadGear bag. I'll post some pictures so you guys can see but if you want more details you can go to DadGear.com!

It's been an eventful week but overall, a great one!
